Final Conference brought project in new 2025 Phase

The closing meeting (Final Conference) of the 2023/2024 Phase of Bridging the north Sea was held on December 16 and 17, 2024. On Monday, December 16, this took place at the Faculty of Archaeology of Leiden University with a hybrid working session of the entire Bridging the North Sea Network on the theme “Evaluation of the process: What have we learned?”.

On Tuesday, December 17, it was held at Museumpark Archeon in Alphen aan den Rijn, with the handover of the Action Plan (Research Assessment & Interpretation Plan) to Nicole Bezuijen-Dierdorp, Director of the Governance and Living Environment domain of the Province of South Holland, on behalf of the Deputies for Europe and Heritage, respectively Mariëtte van Leeuwen and Meindert Stolk from the Province of South Holland, the lead partner of the Straits project Bridging the North Sea.

The final working session of this project phase was held under the title “Planning the Future,” where agreements were made about strengthening the BtNS Network and promoting the Action Plan with regional partners. Additionally, the next BtNS meeting is scheduled for December 2025 in Kent (UK).
