On 25 November, Marco Simjouw and Tom Hazenberg were digitally present at the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Straits Committee. They announced to board members and Straits Officers from the Straits regions the Final Conference of the Bridging The North Sea – The Initial Phase on December 16th and 17th in Zuid-Holland (Leiden and Alphen aan den Rijn). Deputee Marriëtte van Leeuwen of Zuid-Holland, Lead Partner of the project, mentioned this in her weekly report on LinkedIn:
“Last week’s travelling circus continued this week. After Brussels and Düsseldorf, I went to Ghent last Monday for the Straits Committee’s board meeting. In this network, we work together with various regions from the UK, France, Belgium and the Netherlands to create a strong region on the North Sea.
Zuid-Holland was well represented during the consultation, including presentations by Marco Simjouw and Tom Hazenberg on the Bridging the North Sea project. A programme working on awareness of maritime heritage and tackling sea level rise. Curious? Take a look at the website!”
